The University of Ottawa will organize with UN-Habitat the International Conference on Chinese and African Sustainable Urbanization (ICCASU 2015) from October 24 to 25, 2015 in Ottawa, Canada. Audio recordings and presentation material from the Panel on China's Land Management System Reform: Issues, Progress and Prospect which took place during the annual World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty held in Washington DC from March 23 to 27, 2015. Organized by the World Bank Development Economic Research Group (DECRG), the conference aims to foster dialogue and sharing of best practices on the diversity of reforms, approaches and experiences that are being implemented in land sectors around the world.

The Association of African Planning Schools (AAPS) is hosting its fourth all-schools conference from November 17 to 19, 2014 in Cape Town, South Africa. The AAPS is a network of 51 higher education institutions offering planning educational programmes. AAPS members are drawn from Anglophone, Lusophone and Francophone Africa.

Chinese investments in residential development are demonstrating a track record of opportunity and experience in Africa where 46 cities have populations of a million people or more. The Africa-China Urban Initiative hosted a panel on Understanding (and Harnessing) Chinese Investment to Finance African Housing at the African Union for Housing Finance (AUHF) 29th Annual Conference on September 11-12, 2013 in Mauritius, which focused on the theme of mobilising capital for housing finance.
